LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Our client is in metals R&D and manufacturing with a new process. The process is very high tech and difficult to explain in sound bite form, because of that, the logo will be very important.
The basic concept of their business is that they take a metal, process it, and the product that results is less corrosive and longer lasting. Think the transition from iron to steel this is the next step.
The company name is Third Millennium Metals.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A master logo for the company-at-large. Note that there will be several separately branded divisions for different products, so you should create a logo that can be modified in a way that will keep build the master brand and allow for the various product lines. The addition product lines will likely be illustrated with periodic table symbols so you can keep that in mind (Au is gold, Cu is copper for instance)
The client is open to ideas, but the toying around they have done in house includes initials TM squared (with the small two above and to the left of the M) and includes some sort of chemical symbol. This is tricky because many chemical symbols could be taken out of context. The particular element they deal with is carbon, so the logo could include a carbon atom or some other illustration for either carbons or metals.
Weve attached a couple examples.
Our logo will be needed in the following formats:
.jpg for PPT presentations
Transparent .jpg
Layered Illustrator files
1-color format for printing on promotional items
We will narrow down the choices and share the best 10 options with the client and have further refinements after that.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
This is a business-to-business client so the audience is made up of the metals industry: R&D partners, manufacturers and scientists.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We want to see all options, so have fun with this design, be creative and provide a unique take for our client. The one thing to avoid is references to the periodic table. This firm deals with many metals and elements so trying to emulate one wouldnt work.
