LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
This logo is for a small golf club - Braids United GC - based in Edinburgh, Scotland and with around 80 members. We are a non-course owning club based at a public golf course, viz. we have a clubhouse but the course is seperately managed by the local authority. We do not offer any services which might be offered by a larger private club, e.g. golf lessons, catering, corporate events. Our membershiup is locally based and we offer them the facility to belong to enjoy golf in an informal and relaxed environment - golf, beer and the odd social event and outing.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need an existing logo redesigned to look more professional and modern. The logo will be used on our club web site (current design can be seen at www.braids-united.co.uk although this design may change in time), on printed materials (letters, fixture lists, scorecards etc) and on clothing - tee-shirts, pullovers etc.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Golfers. We are not a commerical organisation but a small private club. We require a professionally designed image to make the club look more professional to current and prospective members (almost certainly male - not due to any specific policy but just the way it is).
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The existing logo, as can be seen from the attached, requires to be updated, however, being for a golf club, the logo should at the same time retain a traditional feel.
Google image search for 'golf club logo' gives plenty of examples of the general feel of golf club logos. Some of these inlcude topographical features. If you woul like to include something like that then images of the course can be viewed at the site of one of our sister clubs:
http://www.edinburghthistle.co.uk/Braid_...
How closely the new logo should adhere to the overall design of the existing logo I'm not sure. The club have used the existing logo in various forms for some considerable time. However I'm sure the committee would be willing to look at alternative designs.
Logo should be supplied in formats required for web, stationery and clothing.
Colors you may wish to include could be navy blue, red and yellow/gold. I believe these are the traditional club colors however how important this is I don't know. I guess the logo is the most important and colors can be looked at later.
