LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
The project is for a seed stage web start-up being launched by two people. The site will be a place for connecting the high skill worker who has chosen the independant consultant, freelance, entreprenurial route for a career with the companies that are in need of their skills.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
we need a logo that will be primarily be used on our own website freedagent.com but also on partner websites and on marketing materials primarily to be used on the web. It's possible down the road that we'd use in letterhead and other offline business purposes. This design will be the graphical representation of what the company represents.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The audience is two fold. 1. Career professionals with 5+ years of experience who have either chosen or been forced into a career as 'guns for hire' or consultancy. Alternatively many may be serial entrepreneurs or skilled specialists who have started a variety of small businesses that they wish to promote. These are the folks that have something to sell... either themselves or the services of their small/micro company. 2. 'Corporate America' is expected to increasingly turn to these types of temporary/contract workers to come in and do an important, high skill job and then simply leave, rather than be retained as a full time employee. The business will rely upon both candidates/businesses to register with the site and also for potential employers to hire or retain the services of the these highly skilled free agents.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
We like the web 2.0 feel. This will primarily be a web oriented business and will represent a modern approach to staffing and for getting corporate projects completed. Although it should be general enough such that it would appeal to a broad cross section of businesses to include any thing across designers, lawyers, management consultants, doctors, trainers, etc, etc.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
There are no absolute must haves and I'd like to see a number of different variations, although when I think of the business I think of a suit with wings... the suit to represent the professionalism of the folks providing the services and the wings to reflect the fleeting nature of the roles... ie swoop in and do what needs to get done and then fly away. But please don't think that you must be limited to this. I am debating the use of a phrase 'high skill, low overhead' but am on the fence there as welll... open to other "catch phrase" suggestions that catch the essence here... but doesn't need to include any text at all... can just be an image.
