LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Our customer is a credit union based in Latin America. A credit Union is a cooperative financial institution that is owned and controlled by its members, and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at reasonable rates, and providing other financial services to its members.

They want to introduce a new product to its members: The certificate of deposit. CDs are similar to savings accounts in that they are insured and thus virtually risk-free; they are "money in the bank" (CDs are insured by the NCUA for credit unions). They are different from savings accounts in that the CD has a specific, fixed term (often three months, six months, or one to five years), and, usually, a fixed interest rate. It is intended that the CD be held until maturity, at which time the money may be withdrawn together with the accrued interest.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo for this new product: The certificate of deposit.

Logos for banks over long time were focused on solid, serious and conservative message stressing their stability. This key concept started gradually to deteriorate over past 10 years into more modern visual message which stresses how personal banking can be.Personal aspect vs stability is an obvious challenge and credit unions try to appeal to local markets maintaining conservative branding as opposed. We need that distinctive, eye catching and adaptable logo identity for this financial product.

Creative Twist: Main test of good brand identity is if the user can remember the logo without relating it to its name. Thus, you guys will go the same way: Without the name of the product. Just a description.

There are several types of financial logos, commonly designed and used to enhance financial businesses. Logos for banks, stock brokers and financial services walk a thin line - they need to be dynamic enough to be remembered, while remaining conservative enough for a business that deals with money, stocks and financial matters. A logo should always leave a long lasting and memorable impact on its viewers. Dont go for logos that are difficult to utilize in different sizes.

People of 18-60 age group, with middle low to low income.

Logo must have the following traits: modern; progressive; innovative; evoking the stability and success of a reliable financial company while indicating a positive financial future to their clients. All designs must be creative with all originality, we will provide feedback to any entry IF and only IF a creative rationale is included first by the designer.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

There will be no space for clip-art or templates, everything must be original. Since you will not be provided with the product commercial name, NO LETTERS PLEASE!!!
