What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
This is a logo for a product that serves like a 'CraigsList' for local food -- enabling buyers and sellers of local food to find out on a real-time basis what is available at what times and in what quantities, and for sellers to see what products buyers are currently looking for. We would like to communicate:
1) Community Connections/Partnerships -- People buying/selling directly with each other. Primary example is farmers selling directly to local chefs, and chefs buying directly from local farmers. But it could be farmers selling to hospitals, grocery stores or schools, so we might not want to be too literal with 'farmer-chef'.
2) Local Food
3) Economic Benefit
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
image + text. This logo will be primarily used on a website. Therefore, it has to scale well and not be too tall so that website viewers have to scroll too far down to find the content they are looking for.
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
The Piedmont Environmental Council is a non-profit organization located in the Northern Virginia Piedmont region. We have had a popular print guide for several years that lists out local farmers who are interested in selling directly to restaurants and other institutions, as well as restaurants and institutions who are interested in buying directly from local farmers. The guide is known as Farmer-Chef Express.
We are in the process of creating an online version of this product. We need a logo for use on the website and in future print versions of the guide.
As we mentioned above, the website will function similarly to a 'CraigsList' for local food -- enabling buyers of local food to find out on a real-time basis what is available and in what quantities, and for sellers to see what products buyers are currently looking for. It will be searchable by product and geography and will include a user-interface that allows sellers and buyers to post directly. It will be housed within our Buy Fresh Buy Local website, which can be found at www.buylocalvirginia.org.
This project is a sister project of our Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign. Which is a national campaign with its own branding (see attached logo). We would want Farmer-Chef Express to be distinct from Buy Fresh Buy Local, but complimentary. We have also attached our organization's logo, because it would need to compliment that as well.
