Faceplant - "Social Speaking"

Faceplant is a real-time connection between listeners and speakers. Whether at a conference, user group, classroom or lecture hall, Faceplant allows speakers to turn their audience into active participants. Using Faceplant, speakers can: conduct polls and view results; ask questions and analyze answers; view and answer audience questions in real-time; recieve valuable signpost feedback (speed up, slow down, please repeat) in a non-distracting way; and obtain valuable feedback after a session has completed.

After creation, the Faceplant website enables speakers to broadcast their event or session and invite participants to interact before, during and after the event. Faceplant also supports conferences, allowing conference organizers to provide Faceplant functionality to all speakers, and to utilize the feedback reporting services to collect session feedback from attendees in a hands-off manner.

While speaking, the raw flow of information being exchanged by attendees can be distracting to a speaker, even as that interaction provides a valuable interaction channel for attendees. To combat distraction and information overload while speaking, Faceplant provides "signpost" information to speakers around only the essential pieces of information an active speaker needs to know. Information such as, if the speaker is going too fast or too slow, the speaker's volume and responses to poll questions can all be presented to the speaker in a way that enables him or her to obtain valuable information at a glance.

Attendees can interact with the speaker and one another through the Faceplant website, either as registered users or anonymously. Alternatively, Faceplant allows attendees to provide feedback and interaction through external services like Twitter and trust that their voice will be heard.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A logo that features the name of the product (Faceplant) and its tagline ("Social Speaking"), but that also incorporates other visual elements and gives that logo a distinctive character that potential users will remember. A simple logo is ideal, and something that has fun with the name would be ideal. The logo will be used on the website for the product as well as advertising and presentation materials.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Public speakers, trainers and educators, technical and otherwise. Pretty much anyone who speaks to a group of people and who wants to add depth to their interactions with audiences. The app will likely draw heavily from folks who already use other forms of Social Media (i.e. Twitter).

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We're open, but we like colors and logos that complement a web experience.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Simplicity. No cluttered designs with distracting elements. The key is to obtain a design that grabs the user quickly, but doesn't get in their way.
