LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

East Side Ovens is a wholesale bakery located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We've been around since 1993 and have a fair amount of customer recognition, especially in the Milwaukee area. We deliver fresh bakery daily to Milwaukee and Madison, as well as participate in various local farmer's markets. In the near future, we plan to expand our retail business and have a basic menu... to have more of a cafe/bakery business rather than just purely wholesale delivery.

All of our products are vegan, meaning they do not contain eggs, dairy, or animal products. However, most of our customer base is not concerned about this, and we tend not to promote this aspect of our business too much, as it often turns people off of our products who would otherwise try them. Virtually all of our products are "all natural"... no trans fats, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, artificial colors, or preservatives. We are not an organic bakery. All of our products are "made from scratch" from the finest quality ingredients. We think we make the best pies and fruit dumplings in the world!

Go to our web site to find out a bit about us..... www.EastSideOvens.com. The pictures are bad, but it will provide some info.

Because of our upbeat attitude, kindness, and genuine care we give to each customer, as well as our vegan nature for some of our customers, we have kind of a "cool" and almost retro reputation here in Milwaukee. We still get customers that mention their fond experiences in the nineties, when East Side Ovens had a regular retail business. We are a progressive, kind, "warm fuzzy" company...and a no "BS" company as well.

Our prices are middle of the road, our customers are hard-working middle class folks that value handmade, labor intensive bakery. They are a bit out of the ordinary. We are a bit weird, too.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo that can be minimized to 2 inches by 2 inches (or smaller if possible)... for product labels and expanded as large as about 20 inches by 20 inches..for a delivery vehicle magnetic sign. We like the colors brick red and forest green, but are open for suggestions. We are a "warm fuzzy" company, so a rounded logo rather than a blocky or jagged one might be better.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Busy professionals, people who appreciate quality, vegans, vegetarians, funky people, cool people, people with egg allergies, people with dairy allergies, educated people, people who like food that's handmade. We want them to think that we are interested in their happiness, we are kind, hard-working, and just like them.... whatever that might be.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

brick red, forest green (or close to it), and whatever colors go with them....(Christmas colors).... If you feel strongly about other colors, go ahead and give it a shot.... we're not set on these colors.... we're open to other stuff. We do not want a logo that is overly gawdy, hard to read, and arrogant. The font can be different, but not strange and unreadable. We want to keep it cool and simple.....a fresh logo... contemporary design. It can't be too packed with stuff, because we want to be able to make it smaller and larger... it shouldn't be too "busy." Let's keep it simple, functional.... clean. We're not trying to conquer the world here... just a nice, crisp, likeable, and easily readable... starter logo.

Maybe a baker guy, baking hat, pie, cookie, muffin,.... i have no idea. We don't bake alot of bread, so any bread-related stuff is a bad idea. We want something that will print well too... not alot of intricate patterns or colors.

We plan on franchising our business, so this is an opportunity for a designer to be the creator of a logo that will be seen nationwide! This could be as popular as the McDonald's "M" in time.. who knows?

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

artwork: bread, bakery building, oven
