LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a Microbrewery/Bar/ Brew your own beer business. The story starts with our 1962 Ford fire engine that is the namesake of our brewery. It is yellow and black and is the inspiration both in name and feel. As you can imagine it is "old school", heavy duty and industrial, think "they just don't make 'em like this anymore". We like the fire engine theme but are NOT a fire engine/ fireman's bar. We use the fire theme some but not exclusively. Our bar will be industrial looking with a lot of metal, natural rough wood accents, with an overall old world feel. We are craft brewers, craft being the key word here. We make quality beers for those that want a top notch brew made the old fashioned way, real beer. Both myself and my business partner are the type of guys that fix and build everything we have. We build our houses, fix our cars (antique VWs and Porsches), build the brewing equipment, fly planes, etc. We would much rather find something broken and of quality and fix it than throw it out and buy cheap junk.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Our current logo is rudimentary but we want it to be the inspiration for the new logo. We have not used the current one for very long as we are a startup business. This current logo should be the inspiration but wide artistic freedom is permitted in the final design. We are looking for you to interpret the old logo incorporating the description above. We like the Maltese cross fire emblem that is the basis with our name on the top an bottom rockers but the rest is a little busy and crowded. We would like the logo to be two colors, yellow and black. The logo should work positive and negative and be useable from business cards to tap handles and signage. The center circle of the logo has too much going on as do the side rockers. the V8 and 560 c.i. refer to the type and displacement of the fire engine's motor.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We want our customers to think this is a place of camaraderie, like a band of brothers. Firemen have it, soldiers have it, pilots have it, etc. This is a place you can come in from the cold, no matter what happens your brothers are there for you. We take care of each other. On the walls there will be old pictures of pilot squadrons and fire companies long ago gone, etc. Our target customers are those that appreciate that which has substance and comes from somewhere with a story behind it. Not just simply a beer with a fancy label, brewed in some anonymous brewery, where every thing is computer controlled and devoid of any real character. Our customers want more than "McBeer".

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The Maltese cross design and the fire engine colors. We don't like what is in the center of the current logo, its just too much fire stuff.
