LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Our corporate tag line could be "End Web Chaos" or "Search for Meaning".
Metavana has solved the problem of automatically capturing, organizing, analyzing, and searching consumer opinions expressed on-line via the Internet. Our fully automated sentiment search and analysis solution is valuable for market research and managing brand exposure as well as many other applications.
Businesses can track consumer chatter about their products, services, and brands; benchmark themselves against competitors; and even selectively participate in the dialogs. Consumers can aggregate their search for peer opinions across the Web through a single query.
After several years of intense technology development, our California-based venture is about to deploy our first prototype. As we gear up for commercial launch, we will begin investing in our corporate identity and marketing. Designing a logo is a first step.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Very important: While our core solution today is for sentiment search and analysis (also known as social media mining), we plan to launch other search solutions in the future. So the logo's relevance should not be limited to the sentiment application.
The winning logo will convey our mission (i.e. end Web chaos by enabling meaning-based search) and values (i.e. commitment to scientific and technical excellence and passion about the emerging social web and its potential).
It will be used on our SaaS-delivered B2B dashboard application; as an ingredient label when we are embedded as an option on B2C search sites; on down-loadable mobile apps; and of course on our future web site, marketing collateral, presentations, stationary, etc.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
B2B customers will include Global 2000 organizations in Hospitality & Travel, Personal Finance, Media & Entertainment, and Consumer Electronics. The buyer will typically be responsible for brand management, market research, or e-commerce. Channel partners will include information services providers, marketing services companies, travel agencies, talent agencies, and meta-search sites.
Businesses will view us as indispensable for protecting and growing the value of their brands, and consumers will view us as a vital enabler helping them distill meaning from the noisy chaos of user-generated content on the Web.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Some companies whose logos we admire for their iconic purity or elegant use of typography are --
We're very open to the use of color as an element of the design. Ideally, the colors proposed will symbolize nature, intelligence, and socialization.
We're biased against designs that include explicit, recognizable graphics (e.g. people, animals, monuments).
OUR DECISION PROCESS:
We are likely to follow a two-step process for determining a winner.
Step 1: Separate submissions that are "on the boat" (no more than 10) from those "off the boat". For those that are "on the boat", we will specify certain refinements to our criteria based on what we've learned from the process by that point.
Step 2: Invite a few finalists to the "captain's table". We will ask this short list of 2-3 submissions to make further refinements.
Unless an obvious winner has already emerged beforehand, we will then select a winner!
Thank you for your interest in working with our exciting young company.
