LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
U. Inc. publishes U. Magazine, the largest college magazine,
colleges.com. We are in the process of creating a new
company to launch employment.com. Our aim is to help
people advance their career and education. While, the site is
still under construction at this point, when we are done we
aim to be the most comprehensive site for all job seekers.
We would respectively like to distance our selves from
competitors that use monsters or monkeys which we believe
do not represent well, one's career aspirations. You can see
some of our sister sites at colleges.com or campaign.com
Also, we just posted a project recently. I do comment on
almost every entry. PLEASE read my updates when I
post them. They will help you eliminate directions we
don't want to go in.

That project logo got used with the new magazine we publish:

Who ever wins this will be sure to have their logo
displayed in prominent advertising in the future.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We're looking for a new logo that will be used on our
website, in ads, and in all collateral materials. We
are looking for a logo and brand that will instill trust and
security in a process that many feel is difficult.
Side thought to explore ( but not at the expense of the
main clean logo)
One of our trademarks is Employment Man which we could see using
as our main mascot along with his whole family,
Employment Woman, Employment Boy, and
Employment Girl. However, while you should feel free to
run with that concept if you choose, a strong core logo
is the most important thing to focus on.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Is both passive and active job seekers
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
We are currently using Pantone 660C which we like, but we
are open to other colors.
We like the font we are using which is Optima-Bold, but
would consider alternates.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We definitely do not want purple or greens in the logo, or at
least not as the primary colors.
We also do not want any combination of the following: blue
and orange; or green and orange
I also do not want to see any question marks in the logo or
magnifying glasses.
I do not want to see any comical or overly wide fonts used
