LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

OrangeSlyce is an online marketplace offering college students with career-related paid projects that are provided by small businesses. Students can login, search, and apply for small jobs like logo design, writing projects, and research that small businesses need done. Businesses save money by utilizing the student workforce while college students make a ton compared to just about any job they could get while in college. We need a logo to represent this concept.

Our company needs to appeal to the professional businesses as well as college students in need of money. We have significant seed funding and will eventually do a large-scale marketing campaign - this logo will be seen in publications and advertising everywhere. This logo design is only the start. We will be in need of many designs, and truly believe in customer loyalty. Whoever comes up with our perfect logo will get plenty of business from OrangeSlyce in the near future...

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

OrangeSlyce needs a logo that appeals to both students and businesses, that has a lot of energy and represents our core service. Ideally it will be representative of a fast-paced internet startup company with a revolutionary service.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Both college students and small/startup businesses.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We like the "Web 2.0" style, even though we think that term is cliche. We like the simple, high-tech, internet business style logo. Here is a website with some popular internet business logos that we liked: http://web2list.com/logos/

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We've struggled to come up with a central image/icon that represents our core service all in one item. We eventually came up with the idea of having of having a full orange with a post-it note and a thumbtack stuck through it into the orange, representing a job board with a note. The business name "OrangeSlyce" would be on the right. Of course, we want a very unique and somewhat abstract design of this concept. (We had a bad experience with a designer who essentially did a photo-realistic concept of this). However, we are definitely looking for the best design and image to represent what OrangeSlyce does, so if you think you have a great idea, we want to see it! We are looking for that talented designer to blow our expectations out of the water!

Colors: We would like to see orange used, possibly some green (but don't want it to look like a plant), and maybe some gray. We also like gradients and the styling used by some web 2.0 companies (but not overdone!)

Fonts: Probably sans-serif fonts are the best based on the styles we've liked.

Designers - you are the experts, we want to challenge you and see the best you can come up with!

Our Promise: We are very VERY good with communication and will update everyone quickly on the submitted designs to help come up with an awesome logo. Feel free to contact me directly at sean@orangeslyce.com as well. Also, we are looking for a designer for continued work including advertisements, business card, etc. as well as some UI design for our service and website so this logo represents additional projects.
