LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

This is a not for profit swimming organization who is looking to create a more professional, more recognizable image in the community. This logo specifically is for a half-Ironman(tm) distance event, something that would tie it to triathlon.

On a 1-10 scale: 1 being informal, laid-back and fun; 10 was extremely professional, conservative and traditional, this logo would be a 7-8

Some adjectives we would want participants to use when they see this logo:

Professional, competent, thoughtful, fit, healthy, strong.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The logo should read:

2000M

Half Iron Postal

Presented by Bonded Logic

2000M should be bold, Half Iron Postal should be a little smaller, and the presented text should be just a little small still.

One key is a design that can fit into the circle of a medal. The medals have mylar inserts that can include logo designs, but the design should be visible within the circle.

You don't need to provide raster formats of the logo, just the Illustrator format - please make certain your design can be read and tweaked in CS2.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

People generally in their 20-50's. They are intelligent, fit, well-rounded (figuratively, not literally!), split male and female. Income level is lower mid to high. These folks take their sport seriously and are going to be looking for a stylish, professional sports looking logo for their event.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavs, Daytona 500. See exampleLogos.jpg

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Looking for:

* Readable sans serif fonts, preferably bold fonts that you typically see in sports type logos. Use outlines on the fonts as well - everyone seems to like that look.

* Use the colors of the sponsors logo (green black), see Sponsor Logo.ai

* Crests, shields and logo shapes seem to be a big hit, so maybe incorporate them in to your design (make sure it can fit well on to a circular medal)

* Try to keep it clean but visually interesting, should be able to scale down a little and still be readable.

NO: Red and yellow, avoid "cartoonish" logos. Stay away from traditional running, swimming and biking images - as well as the traditional IronMan logo. See exampleLogos.jpg
