Text first, the name is first and foremost, but I think working in the US Capitol or the United States (possibly in silhouette) would be great and make it prettier.

This is actually a logo for a wedding! We're doing a campaign theme, so this logo will be used on printables (invitations, gift bags, programs, favors) as well as the website header We are doing a campaign theme and branding the event as if we are candidates, i.e. vote for WALSH '14, so that's the general idea, more serious than not, but with a vintage vibe.
