What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
What is your industry?
Publishing and Media
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
The first message conveyed through Da Mouse's logo should be a sense of classic professionalism much like conveyed through the more traditional mainstream media outlets but in a modern, pushing the edge of technology fashion.
Second, our goal is to create simple Disney fun and so our logo while serious should convey simplicity and that sense of fun without being over the top.
Third the logo should be striking and unique so as to present something the public hasn't quite seen before while still having a sense of retro comfort.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
I prefer logos that have image and text but they must both be able to stand alone in their own right and command nearly the same presence despite whichever one is being presented at the moment. That is truly crucial as the text might be better served being used in some cases on the web whereas for mobile devices and on social networks an image logo serves an important need of filling the often times cramped spaces with a compelling and immediate brand message.
One of my favorite examples of this is http://www.theverge.com/
Their image logo is https://si0.twimg.com/profile_images/145... near perfection in its simplicity, uniqueness and ability to be transformed with simple uses of different colors http://cdn1.sbnation.com/entry_photo_ima... into a modern playfulness. Their text logo as seen on their homepage is not as special as their icon but it still conveys a strong message of importance while still having a youthful exuberance to it.
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
You can visit my site http://damouse.com/ to take a look at our current logo and where it fits into our site. The text and icon will both be crucially important as we expand soon into mobile and other areas and in order to have a better logo represented on videos and other media types.
Our name is Da Mouse and we cover Disney news but we would like this brand to stand on its own merit. Da Mouse is a reference to the man that started the Walt Disney Company, Walter Elias Disney but as far as the logo is concerned that should just be a challenge to create something worthy of the excellence and always forward looking mind of a visionary. The name Da Mouse aslo plays on Walt being the creator of Mickey Mouse but our logo again should contain no direct references to the Walt Disney Company or its characters. I would be open to the idea of a unique mouse character to represent the brand but it would have to be done in good taste and meeting the general concept of the principles mentioned in the previous sections. I lean more towards the previous ideas versus the idea of a logo mouse but can also see the potential of a mouse if done right and I really just want to make sure to allow for as much creativity within my general parameters.
We are passionate about the work we do at Da Mouse and we are excited for the opportunities that all of your help will lend us moving forward. We know we won't be able to choose everyone's design but we thank you in advance for considering our proposal and putting your time, effort and passion into this project as well.
