I'm new to the travel industry and on track to open my doors by June. I'll be building my client-base from scratch through social-networking, door-to-door cold calls, direct mailings, and email newsletters. My logo should make it easy to identify that I specialize in cruises and ideally that I make booking your dream cruise easy (by offering the option to bring my office to your home for a consult).
I anticipate doing the bulk of my business with the 55 and older market segment. 10 years of experience as a self-employed, in-home, computer repair technician opened my eyes to the surprisingly high number of people of all age groups who are still very uncomfortable with and incompetent at making purchases over the internet (those 55+ in particular). It's probably best that the logo appeals more to a Downtown Abbey viewer and less to a Breaking Bad junkie. Nothing about it should make you worry about inviting me into your home and trusting me with your dream vacation.
Because I'm a start-up with limited funds I anticipate using this logo on everything: webpage, emails, business cards, letterhead... you get the picture. I'm not really sure that you needed to know that, but there it is just in case it helps.
