We are a membership network of organizations that provide support to families who have a critically ill baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We are the ONLY collective voice for NICU Parent Leaders in the US and partner with major healthcare provider associations like the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Coalition for Infant Health. We embrace a spirit of collaboration over competition believing that no single organization can serve ALL the needs of ALL 500,000 NICU families every year and do it well. We have created the FIRST collective voice for NICU families and are recognized as a credible, professional membership association for those leading small non-profits in maternal infant health.

Professionalism, Collaboration, Authenticity
This a renaming of an existing nonprofit, right now we are the Preemie Parent Alliance www.preemieparentalliance.org is our website, we have tried the new name NICU Parent Network using our existing logo and icon but want some ideas for a brand refresh since we are entering our 10th year and changing our name to NICU Parent Network. We have been known as PPA so being able to be recognized as NPN will be a strength as we work in an industry where every major provider organization is known by their acronym.
I do not want any blues or purples, those colors are used alot in the medical industry. I also do not want any hands as we have several members that use hands in their logos. I also do not want any babies or moms in the design because many provider associations use non-descript moms, babies, families in their logos and I want us to stand out.
I prefer something that emulates teamwork, like our existing icon, but I feel like our current icon might be a little dated now.
Something that presents us as professional to major corporations, provider associations/coalitions, and legislative bodies is important. We want to show that everyone has an equal seat at our table, that we are stronger when we work together, that we embrace individuality and collective leadership.
On our website, if you go to the Member Directory you will see that we are an umbrella of sorts for many small nonprofits. I do not want our logo to compete with or be confused with our members in any way. And we absolutely can not even remotely resemble the March of Dimes. They are kind of a competitor.
I added a screenshot from WomenStrong International...I love that color combination and I also love the way the lines intersect and kind of weave together to depict strength.
I don't know if there is way to modernize or update our current icon so I've included a file of our existing logo as well.
Our new tagline will be: The Collective Voice for NICU Parents.
