LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Epic Life Church is a new church plant that will be launching in a Mpls suburb this fall/winter. We are starting in a typical mid-western suburban neighborhood where families are important.
We will begin meeting in a movie theater, so our church won't have that "traditional" church feel. We won't have organs, stained glass, or choir robes. Instead of donuts and coffee at church, we might even have popcorn and soda instead. Like I said, non-traditional. This won't be like your parent's church. We'll have music and teaching that appeal to a young, hip crowd. Children and youth ministries will be important, as will college ministry. We'll have many activities that include the entire family: camping trips, retreats, craft days, etc.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Because we won't have a regular church building, the logo will be our identifier. It will be what brings us all together. The logo should be something you will see on our signage, website, clothing, stationary, business cards, and just about everything else.
The logo must incorporate our name in some way (Epic Life Church, or Epic Life). Because it will be used in a variety of ways, simple is probably better. But you are the designer, you tell me!
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Really, we have 2 target audiences:
age 18-25 singles/college students
age 25-45 families
Most families in our area value and participate in sports, academics, physical fitness/recreation (winter and summer). The church itself is a cross-section of this neighborhood. Most families will have children (elementary through high school), and we hope to have a healthy number of college students and young married families.
We want something that will have a broad appeal, but at the same time communicate that we are not your traditional church.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Simple design - easy on the eyes
Color design - one or two colors only
Fonts that we can use elsewhere - would like to create continuity in our publications
A warm, welcoming feel
I don't want:
Crazy fonts - prefer san serif
Traditional Christian Symbols (no crosses, doves, open tombs, etc)
A corporate feel - our church is about people and relationships
