LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We need a new logo design for an organization called "Globalisation for the Common Good Initiative" to update the logo that has been used.
You can learn more about the organization by visiting the website that will be redesigned after our logo is complete: www.globalisationforthecommongood.info
Here is some text from our website:
The Globalisation for the Common Good Initiative began in 2002 at a conference in Oxford. Since then, the GCG International Conference Series has become an annual event, traveling across the globe to St. Petersburg, Dubai, Nairobi and Kericho, Honolulu, Istanbul and Melbourne. The 2009 conference took place at Loyola University of Chicago and the 2010 conference will be held at California Lutheran University.
These multi-disciplinary and inter-faith conferences- each locally organised and funded, most often by regional organisations working in tandem with a university in cooperation with GCGI- have been lively and productive affairs, in which many scholars, representing many diverse faiths and none have come together from around the world for intense discussions on a spiritual and value-centered vision of globalisation and the common good. Our work over the past few years has given rise to numerous collaborations, several book publications, and academic papers, as well as the establishment of the rapidly developing online Journal of Globalisation for the Common Good, hosted by Purdue University- Calumet, USA. There are also modules on Globalisation for the Common Good offered at different universities around the world, including Fatih University in Istanbul, Trinity College, University of Melbourne and Loyola University of Chicago.
In short, what the GCGI seeks to offer- through its scholarly and research programme, as well as its outreach and dialogue projects- is a vision that positions the quest for economic and social justice, peace and ecological sustainability within the framework of a spiritual consciousness and a practice of open-heartedness, generosity and caring for others, by encouraging us all to know and to serve the common good.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo designed for our organization that will retain a couple of the core elements from the current image that is being used as the logo. We need this image to be a vector based image so that we can use it for making a web graphic but also use the same logo on larger banners at the various events the organization partners with around the world.
This logo will be used on print and web materials.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The audience is predominantly people seeking to lend their expertise and knowledge to support the common good. People who tend to attend conferences and meetings generally have an academic background. They are often scholars or students who are sharing their academic works. They are also often people who lead or participate in global non-profit organizations that support social justice, peace, ecological and economic sustainability.
Our organization often partners with University and Colleges around the world to support conferences and seminars. Our logo should carry the same professionalism and distinguished nature of common university logos and maintain a similar visual shape to help balance our logo with university logos when they are printed on banners and other print medium.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
We like the logo of the World Public Form Dialog at http://www.wpfdc.org/
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The logo must have some iconic image of the world and also some iconic image of the scales of justice. Attached you will find the current Globalisation for the Common Good Initiative logo. We are also attaching an image of an another organization (McGill School of Environment) because we like the colors of the blue and green that appear in the logo. We would like to keep the colors to a simple color design to maximize cost efficiency when it comes to printing single or two color printing.
