Creative Brief
Who are you?
We are a small startup company, building a weight management website that helps people count calories.
What do you need?
We need a logo for our site, which is called CalorieStory. It could be 2 words instead: "Calorie Story".
CalorieStory's main tool is a food log which can be accessed on Facebook. The logo will be used for our Facebook badge as well, so it needs to look good in a square aspect ratio; as small as 50px by 50px.
Who Is Your Audience?
Our goal is to make counting calories easy, and to have a distinction, colorful and memorable logo. We want the logo to look simple so people think that the tool is simple too.
We want to stand out in a list of Facebook applications. For example, type "diet" into the Facebook search.
We expect that our demographic will be largely female, between 20-40 years old.
We want the actual name of the site to stand out; that is "Calorie Story", so we're more focussed on the name than any illustration.
"Calorie Story" is based on the concept of taking calorie counting and using it to "tell your calorie story". It takes a log of foods (which is boring) and instead turns it into a story that people can share etc.
Requirements
We Like These Examples
We like work which is simple and flat. Nothing 3D or too photographic or even too complicated. No drop shadows, or too much shading / gradients.
This tool will integrate strongly with Facebook, so look towards the Facebook design style where possible. It should look contemporary.
We Absolutely Must Have
The name of the site in the logo. It can be "CalorieStory" or "CalorieSTORY" or "Calorie Story". We haven't decided yet so you can choose.
