LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a professional development firm with a new, unique area of focus that needs a visual brand: career ownership. Career owners are individuals who take responsibility for their own careers inside their current organizations, designing career development directions that align with the organization's mission and direction. The Career Ownership System is a program for organizations desiring to provide support for their employees as those individuals define career plans. The concept of 'career owners' has been traditionally used only with entrepreneurs, and only theoretically for employees. Careers inside organizations have been defined only by employers, so the application of this concept is one that is truly unique in today's business environment. The concept and the program aligns with the constant changes that occur in today's workplaces and within the workforce.
Our blog provides the best background: http://careerowners.wordpress.com
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A distinctive, unique logo to match a unique program. We want to use it for web, print promotion, and as a marker for all information products, i.e. books, cd & dvd programs, etc. Most likely for stationary, business cards and signage.
Characteristics we would like to convey: change is crucial--for an individual's career as well as an organization's success; a new economy (i.e. information/service v. industrial) requires new ways of working; career ownership = confidence, security, resilience, engagement, self-reliance and authenticity.
Symbolism: change, responsibility, success, 21st century (i.e. different economy), innovation
We want to convey that we are the expert in this area, smart and experienced
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The primary audience is decision makers and human resources managers in organizations of any size who recognize that their human resources, when challenged and growing, will create business success in today's economy. These organizations know that attracting and retaining talent is a requirement for competitive success and want an organization-wide strategy to do so. These are leaders/decision-makers who "get" that responsibility for career direction creates an ownership level of commitment v. an employee level of commitment.
A secondary audience is a mid-career professional who clearly sees how important it is to drive one's career and wants to know how to do it. Individual services and information products will allow for individual use.
