What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Background information: We're a Zoo that is creating a hands-on play space for children ( 0 - 12 ) in our own event space.

1) We would like the logo to have broad appeal for children of all ages, and of course, generate interest in the exhibit.
2) It is important to communicate that is a fun, interactive exhibit. There will be a variety of activities in the exhibit (described below), but I would avoid singling out a specific activity to include as an image in the logo.
3) It's important for our audiences to know this will be a well-planned and well-rounded exhibit with some sophisticated learning elements, so please refrain from using anything text or theming that is overtly childish. Examples would include crayon or child writing font, primary colors, etc.
4) In case it isn't clear in the above fields the logo should read " Brain Play".

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

For this project, I would prefer a image + text logo (the image could be a gear, a brain, or other themed icon), but am also willing to consider a text only version if it's the best fit. Regarding design, please stay away from anything to "cute" or anything that is ultra modern. We're looking for a design that is middle of the road and has broad appeal. We're a zoo, but I don't think it makes sense to include an animal in the design. We will use the logo in a variety of mediums, including print and billboard advertising, web, signage, etc., so it needs to be easily read-able from a distance.

Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
