LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a Mechanical (heating, plumbing etc) and Electrical contracting business with 50 years experience in the industry. We have achieved the ROSPA Presidents Health and Safety Award for outstanding achievements in H&S over the past ten years. We are well known in Northern Ireland for our Electrical Capabilities but not so much for our Mechanical. We have a successful M&E maintenance department as well which we need to promote.

We are not as well known if at all on the mainland (i.e. England, Scotland and Wales). We intend to market ourselves aggressively in the UK and feel that a strong brand name, logo and image are necessary to help achieve this.

We believe a Descriptive Brand Name would be the best way forward; we dont sell our services to the public therefore the name must relate to the construction industry.

We would like to keep Blackbourne as the main part of the name as the company has been trading over 50 years, however recognise the rest needs to be shortened or not included at all.

Our current competitors in Northern Ireland are; Redsky, Irwins Electrical, Contract Services NI, Grahams FM, C.H.C, Strothers M+E, Harvey M+E, Weir and Mac, B+I Electrical, L+M Electrical, J D McGowans, Rotary Services.

Our competitors in the UK would be N G Bailey, Interserve FM, Haden Young, Parkersell, Balfour Kilpatrick, Hills Electrical, Mechanical & Electrical Works Services Ltd.

Our current position in the Northern Ireland market would be in the top 5 electrically and possibly in the top 20 mechanically. We would be regarded as a quality contractor that produces a high quality finish to all of our projects. Our current turnover is in the region of 12 - 15 million per year with plans to grow to 30 million a year over the next 5 years.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The purpose of this design process is to create a new brand name, logo and image which says Mechanical and Electrical Contractor of choice. It needs to get across the fact that we are equally competent in Mechanical contracting as we are in Electrical contracting and of course maintenance.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our services are currently sold to large building contractors, with whom we have an established relationship with and clients such as the government, MOD, Police Service, Education Authorities and Health Authorities. Mechanical and Electrical Consultants would supply us with tender documents as well as the Contract Journals.
