LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Best of the Past is a startup which will launch under its own brand home decoration items and furniture, with style, original (hand-made) quality and todays usability.

As we intend to sell our product only online, the logo is crucial for building trust and sparking desire to spend time and money in our virtual shop.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo that will be used on all our products (every product will carry a name plate with the logo), and as a header on our website, our blog, and stationary.

It should have a scent of the past and look like it is an established glamorous brand that has been there for decades.

As our products will be priced in the range of $ 150 to $ 300 we need a logo that implies good value for money.

Keywords: scent of the past, luxury, quality, feminine, international

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is a 45+ year old, educated woman with a passion for life-style & home decoration. She is a real fun shopper, likes to spend her money on nice things (she has worked most of her life and has the freedom to spend in the way she wants), basically life-style stuff.

She loves design with a scent of the past, but not the dusty old stuff you find at your grandmothers place. For inspiration on decoration she loves to read all the Interior Design magazines.

Furthermore she wants her family and guests to feel at home, and there might be some first grandchildren staying over the weekends. She and her partner love to go on holiday to France, Spain and Italy ,but they try to avoid the crowded touristic spots and prefer nice cottages or Bed & Breakfasts.

She does not want to be treated as an elderly person, as she s still very active.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

To explain our style, we attached some mood boards. They give you an idea of the kind of products we will be producing and the way of presenting them on our website.

They show a comfortable and feel good home, with furniture that might be antique or that fits well with different style periods. There is a feminine touch which we really like. It builds trust in quality and reliability of the products. Our logo should do the same thing.

Furthermore, we attached an example of a company logo used on a product similar to ones we will be producing as a reference for how a name plate looks like.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The design must have our name Best of the Past in it and of course it must have the X-factor for 45+ women.

At the moment we are working on a website design. To give you an idea of how it is going to look like we have attached an impression of the anthracite background. It would be great if the logo would go well with the color and style.

It is important that the logo is easy to read and is visually attractive for women.

We would like to avoid focusing on one particular style only, so we dont need a logo that is typically Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Victorian, etc. but of course we would love to see some of these influences in a more subtle way.

Furthermore it should not be too modern, masculine or technical.

But please, do not turn it into a girly, very sweet and romantic kitsch thing.
