What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Suppertime Barbecue is a BBQ competition team. While our barbecue style is respectful of traditions, it also incorporates new flavors and techniques so is a fusion style. The brand should reflect this sense of innovation while leaning on tradition.
When you eat Suppertime Barbecue it should stimulate your memory recall of a time when you had authentic barbecue years ago, possibly during your childhood, perhaps with family and friends in a bucolic setting.
We would like a logo that harkens back to iconic images (e.g., dinner bells, table settings, etc) but should also be more fresh and contemporary. Imagery could also address the time of day that supper is served, the late afternoon to early evening. There is a sense of anticipation at what is about to be served. Smoke rising and/or wood embers smoldering is a good way to reflect this anticipation.
We do not want dancing pigs and other cartoon icons often associated with barbecue. Our brand is a bit more serious and cerebral. The color palette should also be more natural and less cartoon neon. Following the brand of improving upon tradition, we would like the design to strike a balance between simple vs very detailed and elaborate. When you see the logo it should cause you to pause and think "Suppertime Barbecue, I wonder what that is all about?"
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
The logo should balance the space given to the text "Suppertime Barbecue" and any associated images. The selection of text font and color palette should also balance tradition vs innovation.
