What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Bariatric Surgery Source
What is your industry?
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
1. Authority - Our tag line is "Research for Patients: Unbiased. Informed. Current." The logo needs to have a look and feel that demonstrates we are an authority in the weight loss surgery field (most of our content is medical in nature) and that our content can be trusted.
2. Welcoming - Surgery is a scary thing for patients, and we want to logo to help them understand that we are a safe, supportive place to spend time learning about surgery.
3. Tapping into the real or new you (i.e. blossoming flower). Obese individuals often feel oppressed and downtrodden. The logo should help them feel that our website contains information that will help them realize their full potential.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
Size requirements: logo will need to fit into a space that is about 250px wide X 130px high (see current logo space in upper-left corner of web site - http://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/...
Try to stick with the existing logo colors (different shades are okay): pink, dark blue and beige (although we will entertain others)
Wed like to stick with the blossoming lotus flower approach alongside the text of our logo (and possibly our tagline)...
Regarding the image, wed like to modernize vs what we have now. Our current flower logo looks somewhat amateur/unpolished wed like to have it look and feel very professional (keeping the above 3 objectives in mind) while conveying the idea of blossoming (rather than just feeling like a stagnant image).
Regarding the text, wed like to see options to have the text integrated in two ways: 1) Only Bariatric Surgery Source and (2) Both Bariatric Surgery Source AND tagline Unbiased. Informed. Current.
Other points to consider:
Our site caters to both males and females, so dont make the logo overly feminine. HOWEVER, the majority of our visitors are women, so DO err on the side of sensitive and warm feeling, which should cause the logo to feel slightly more feminine feeling than masculine.
Remember that our site is medial in nature, so the logo/fonts should NOT be too whimsical.
Consider combining the text and logo in some fashion for a more cohesive look.
We lean towards sticking with the current lotus flower and colors with a modern active flair, but would also like to consider
o Thin person (abstract?) emerging from flower
o Integrating a happiness angle to the image
o Integrating medical symbol
o Opening flower pedals are each people (abstract) elevating another person (abstract) in center
