LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
The Association for Management Education and Development (AMED) is a network for people in individual and organisation development. From our diverse professional backgrounds, we are brought together by a view that organisations are living entities and people are more than resources. We are a non-profit organisation and our purpose is to help members to develop themselves and others in ways which make a real and enduring difference.
We are concerned with:
+ ethics in business
+ sustainable development
+ workplaces fit for human beings
+ change, creativity and innovation
because we believe these are the prerequisites for success in organisations.
Our members are involved with
+ management and organisational development
+ coaching, counselling and mentoring
+ design and delivery of diverse learning activities and processes
+ the achievement of outstanding performance
+ marketing, finance, operations and all aspects of organisational life
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need to re-fresh our logo and banner. The one were using at the moment looks like a Chinese throwing star on a banner from a Petri dish.
We will use the new logo on our new website, as well as on all electronic and printed communications and publications.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Current and lapsed members, many self employed people, some with small companies, many with large company experience. There is a sizable group of people close to retirement.
We want to engage a younger crowd, while not alienating our long-standing members.
We need new members to buy AMED membership and/or join our free forum to discuss cutting edge management development theory and practice.
Continuity and rebirth
We want those familiar with the AMED logos over the years to have a sense of continuity with the old logo, yet see it as reborn and vibrant.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
As part of refreshing the look of AMED, wed like a few changes to be made to the existing logo:
Evolve the throwing star into something a bit softer, yet crisp.
Have the AMED strap line change from The Developers Network to developing people developing organisations and have that be part of the logo. It must be spelled organisations with an s as we are based in the UK.
