Our attendees are established young professionals, male and female, ages 25-45. in the Denver, CO area. They work hard and play even harder. Roughly half of the 1,000 attendees participate in an alternative sports league www.wasasports.com. The other half hasn't played kick ball since grade school.
We are the young professional board of the Colorado chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Make-A-Wish grants wishes of children facing life-threatening illness. The average wish costs $6,000 to grant. To help spread the word about Make-A-Wish and to have a good time while earning much needed funds, we developed a kickball tournament. Last year, over 1,000 people on 72 teams tapped into their inner junior high self to play kickball. Although there were many bumps, bruises and pulled muscles, these weekend warriors helped us raised over $70,000 (100% of proceed goes directly to granting wishes). This year, we are trying to raise over $100,000. For more information about our past kickball tournaments, please visit www.kickaball-makeawish.org.
