Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

The Nuts and Bolts PowerPoint

What is your industry?

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

That we are a fun yet professional website that finally provides an innovating and creative way to learn PowerPoint ("PPT"). No big concepts and no philosophy about how to be the next Jobs at presentations...we're all about teaching people who live and die by PPT decks how to radically increase their speed and efficiency at PPT.

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

We would prefer image+text, but just text is okay too. Overall, we want the look to be clean and sleek, but still convey a sense of fun and humor. But please refrain from making it cartooney.

For the image, we are very flexible but had a couple ideas. If possible, we'd like to find a way to combine the visuals of nuts and bolts, and the visuals of PowerPoint boxes, shapes, lines...these are the Nuts and Bolts of making great slides!

Thought 1: Using nuts & bolts to create a kind of formation (see attached star formations we found through Google) or visual.

Thought 2: Use elements from PowerPoint (slides, shapes, lines, boxes, etc.) to create a visual

For the text, we think it would look best with "PowerPoint" underneath "The Nuts and Bolts", and preferably smaller, like a subtitle. The font should be sleek but somewhat eye-catching, unusual, and fun. No need for overly professional or boxy fonts just because it's about a Microsoft program ;)

In terms of colors, we'd prefer something with around 2-3 colors, but no special requirements.

Brief updates

Thanks to everyone for the submissions! There are some really great ideas here and we'd like some more time to tweak them, so we're extending the deadline. Keep the creative juices flowing! Cheers

Hi y'all, just a quick note: Several designers used an ampersand instead of an "and" in the "The Nuts and Bolts" wording, and we like it! So from here on out, if you could use the "&", that would be fabulous!

Thanks and rock on!

Dearest designers, two updates:
1. We've noticed a lot of using orange and red. That's fine, and we do like those colors, but don't be shy to experiment with other color schemes and ideas!
2. The star formation is merely an idea we threw out there, but since we're not the creative ones (hence why we need you brilliant people), perhaps it's quite a dumb idea... So please don't don't hesitate to come up with something totally different.

Hi everyone, some designers have awesomely thought about making the logo reflect that this is a video course, through an 'eye' symbol or a 'play button' symbol. These are cool ideas and this is something we didn't think about initially, so great work!

Just another idea to help in your brainstorming!

Thanks and cheers!

Dear all designers! 2 quick things:

1. We've uploaded a document with some visual representations of what we consider PPT visuals, so bullets, boxes, lines of text. This is just to help with some more visual ideas.
2. We've noticed quite a few of you have separated the word "PowerPoint" with a space. Please make sure you spell out "PowerPoint" and not "Power Point".

Thanks and happy designing!
