Devil Kitten (or DK if it looks better)
Yes, apart from identification as Devil Kitten, no other information will be necessary on the business cards, letterhead or envelope.
The target audience is one person - my valentine. I will try to provide guidance for the first few days of things I think she will like, but she will start providing guidance to creatives on Wednesday the 19th. She will be the sole judge and decider of the winning entry. If she absolutely, positively loves two designs, we might award a second prize.
Mischevious (evil, but, y'know fun evil, not evil evil)
I think she will probably be drawn to a cute, cartoony image of a devil kitten. She won't be interested in sexy/lewd images. The image should be classy, not something you'd see on the side of a van in the 70s. I am sure attention to detail: monograms (DK), bullets (claw marks? paws?), calligraphy and other stationery elements will complete the look. Artistic license welcome, have fun with this - how often do you get to design a business card for a devil kitten?
Black is really safe and will probably be your best bet, most likely preferred to red which may be a bit too literal. Then again a little color never killed the devil kitten - a hint of purple or a touch of fire somewhere? You are the creative.
While an illustration/cartoon devil kitten is welcome, I suspect that a lot of color will not be welcome, please don't submit four color comics.
Sharp, clean, possibly of an era or genre (art deco (Streamline modern?), art nouveau?, 20s, Paris), maybe a touch of punk or alt, but not goth! Veer more toward post-modern, away from anime. Think classical, blues or jazz, rather than pop or disco.
Mostly print, would be great if there was a good electronic version for an email sig in case she decides to do that. I think she'll mostly just have fun handing out business cards and writing letters that say Devil Kitten on them.
