Twelve Points Foundation
Consider a compass with lettering, or a square knot with lettering, both of which indicate direction and Scouting.
Top 3 Things
Trust, adventure, fun
We have two separate concepts for this project: a logo using a compass as the motif, or a logo using a square knot as a motif. We would also consider different artwork, keeping in mind our kids do a wide variety of outdoor and indoor learning, with an emphasis on adventure and exploring.
Compass: should actually have 12 points of some size or shape (can vary) around perimeter. These correspond to the 12 items in the Scout Law.
Square knot- can be stylized or realistic, can be within a frame or incoporated with the lettering.
Logo and related need to be relatively simplistic as they will be used in both print and embroidered/silkscreened apparel.
The words Twelve Points Foundation can be attached or separate from the motif.
Our image should be non-gender specific, and create a sensation of both trust and fun. A compass hints at giving youth direction in life, or the square knot suggests safety and strength.
Colors and Fonts:
See https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/310-0231.pdf for extensive information about typography (p. 45) and color palettes (page 50) used in Scouting.
We are not limited to the colors and fonts used in Scouting, but it is a good starting point to help us create an identity related to, but not taken from, Scouting.
WE ARE NOT AN OFFICIAL SCOUTING GROUP but we support, with community donations, Scout groups.. This means we can use official Scout visual cues in our design but WE CANNOT COPY ANY OF IT. We are an unofficial, unrelated non-profit foundation that exists solely to raise money for Scouts in our area, we are NOT an official part of Scouting.
