About Your Company
Custom Spanish Lessons, L.L.C. is a boutique provider of online Spanish lessons to Spanish-language learners in the United States. It is centered around one teacher, one student. Mission Statement: "To connect Spanish learners from the United States with experienced, skilled Spanish teachers in Latin America who are passionate about sharing the gift of language and ensuring all Spanish language learners meet their individual language goals."
All of my teachers are native Spanish speakers living in Panama. They don't speak much English. There is no pre-set course schedule, every learner is treated as an individual and my teachers are extremely talented and passionate and able to adjust their teaching to match each student's needs. Think of our service not of one involving a teacher who teaches a student. It is more of a partnership between a teacher and a student. Learning a language takes persistance. I know because I am a native English speaker, Spanish is my second language. I'm just a normal, white, woman from a monolingual family in small-town Iowa (ok, I hold an M.B.A., so not completely "normal")
There is a lot of competition out there. I believe what differentiates this company is:
1. The teachers speak little or no Spanish, which is the best way to learn a language,
2. The teachers live in Latin America and, for people who would love to study Spanish in Latin America but can't do it or are nervous about doing it, our teachers can bring the experience of learning Spanish to their living room.
3. Our website is run on a dedicated learning platform, not Skype. It is Braincert.com... Enterprise Learning System. Lessons will be offered as a monthly subscription for 2, 3, 4, or 5 lessons per week (persistance is key to learning a language). Currently, I plan to charge $20 - $22 per 50 min lesson.,
5. I, the President, know what it is like to try to master Spanish as an English speaker. I know the challenges and the rewards.
All customers must be 18.
The corporation is only able to legally advertise in the U.S. market at this time.
Although University students may be interested in our service, it is doubtful that many could afford it, so I do not consider them part of the target market.
Also, I would like to strongly discourage anyone who does not speak any Spanish to purchase our services. They would be better served by building vocabulary via a site like DuoLingo and then contacting us in the future.
Given these parameters, I believe the target market includes individuals with Spanish speaking relatives, individuals who wish to travel to a Spanish-speaking country, and individuals who would like to be hired in a Spanish-speaking country.
Broadly speaking, they will be middle class or higher, more likely to identify politically as liberal, and enjoy traveling. Although those who wish to learn so they can communicate with loved ones may fall outside these bounds.
I need a logo. The BrainCert platform I am using requires that the logo be 200 px wide X 50 px high. I also need a favicon. The website requires that this be a 16 x 16 px .ico file extension.
So, below when it asks if I would like an image or text, I need both. I need a favicon without text (unless it is "CSL") and then a logo with the favicon as an icon and the company name as text.
The platform does not allow me to choose the font for paragraghs that I write. However, it does allow me to customize colors. So, I would also like to keep the website color scheme consistent with the logo color scheme.
I have made a special login so that Crowdspring designers can get an idea of how much flexibility/inflexibility the platform gives for customization.

Vision
This is the part that I'm really bad at. Blue is my personal favorite branding color (and interview clothing color) because it implies professionalism and trust. No cartoons or anything that someone would associate with children.
The logo needs to portray two things at once. First, that learning a language is an adventurous, dynamic event. Second, that we are serious about learning language.
Some people might see those to things as conflicting, however I do not. Learning Spanish has opened the door for me to have amazing adventures. But, when it's time to sit down and learn Spanish, I have to put in the work... flashcards, reading, watching Spanish TV.
I want it to give a sense of excitement and action, but not so much so that it lacks a sense of seriousness. People who are thinking about purchasing lessons are serious but excited about whatever door they believe learning Spanish will open for them.
I hope this all makes sense.
Top 3 Things
Professionalism, confidence, the excitement you feel when you're embarking on an adventure (not sure there is a word for that)
Social Media Asset Needs
Facebook page coverphoto, logo, possibly the wording on the "About" section (not sure, I might try to do it myself), advertising.
Twitter profile photo, header image, possibly bio.
Instagram: same logo used for favicon but updated to fit size and file type required by instagram.
Additional Info
For file information, see the above section, "Tell us about your organization and your target audience."
I belive that https://www.spanish55.com/ is our closest competitor. One big difference that I see is that they emphasize training and education as what makes a quality Spanish teacher. I believe that experience and a teacher committed to each student's goals...someone who gets excited with the student when the student learns something they'd been struggling with.
https://preply.com/en/skype/spanish-tutors
This is a completely different service. We evaluate an individual student's needs, goals, and availability and match the student with the teacher who is their best fit.
So many websites that offer Spanish lessons look unpolished and are very "busy". I want a distinctive favicon and logo combined with a simple landing page.
Logos and branding are my weaknesses. If you believe that there was something that I didn't think of, but would be beneficial, please be proactive. I'm very much open to hearing creative ideas.
