LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We offer custom public opinion research (both quantitative research, such as surveys, and qualitative, such as focus groups) and strategic analysis. We are a professional services firm. Our clients include Fortune 500 multinationals, major nonprofits, trade associations, political campaigns and creative agencies (PR and advertising). We emphasize competence and professionalism. Some clients are outside the U.S.; most of our work is shared privately, though our work is sometimes shared with the public, often to generate media for our clients. We are located in Washington, DC, and our careers began in public affairs and politics. We do venture to other areas, ranging from finance to healthcare, technology and entertainment (such as the video game industry). Though a start-up, we will be competing against many established polling firms. Interesting tidbit or background: I came up with the whole Red State/Blue State prism in 1995.

My last name is Starr, but do not feel compelled to put a star in the logo.

You may use an ampersand (&) or "and" - I am more interested in great design.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A logo and graphic design of our name for business cards.

A business card layout.

The logo will also be used in letterhead, cover page and footer of reports, and in a web site.

It is okay if the name is also the logo, or if there is a separate logo and name (but, the name must also be stylized to accompany the logo)

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Decision makers, at C-Suite level of small/medium companies, lower in the food chain in the larger organizations. Product line managers, executive directors, communication directors, political campaign managers, PR and advertising executives at mid-size firms that do not have their own research department but have some national accounts.

Types of customers: American Airlines, Microsoft, Bill Clinton, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, United Way, ESPN, Disney, Hasbro, Pfizer

They need to see us as a stable, established company; distinguished; smarter than they are. Since we are starting out, we would love to grab attention. We sell ourselves as providing actionable recommendations (as opposed to just recording what has happened in the past).
