Business Info

Business Name

Leclaire Christian Church

What do you do?

At Leclaire Christian Church you wont find a style of faith that is "preachy" or "holier than thou." What you will find is a casual atmosphere, todays music, friendly people and a commitment to investigate the life and teachings of Jesus.

Whatever your circumstances - single, married, single again, with or without children - whether youre over-churched or under-churched, and no matter where youve been or what youve done, you matter to God and you matter to us. Were all about loving people and helping them find their way back to God.

A mantra we use is: Find God not religion.

We encourage people to follow Jesus by getting involved with three different spiritual environments: Connect, Grow and Serve.

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

Leclaire Christian Church

You'll receive designs for biz cards, letterhead and envelopes.

Yes, we are asking for letterhead, envelope and business card designs.

Target Audience

What is your industry?

We are a growing, 50 year old, multi-generational, non-denominational church that is taking steps to become more relevant and attractive to younger families and singles (Ages 20-40).

Describe the target audience for your logo and stationery

We are located in Edwardsville, Illinois near the campus of SIUE, the home of 14,000 university students (http://www.siue.edu/ ). Our logo should speak to highly educated families that live in the Metro East of St. Louis, Mo. Think of an audience that is professional, upper middle class, trendy, smart and tech-oriented. Our church is connecting with spiritually open people that like Jesus but think that church has become irrelevant. If we were trying to reach a TV family it would be the Braverman family from NBCs show Parenthood (http://www.nbc.com/parenthood/ ).

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your logo and stationery?

Since the word Leclaire doesnt come with any immediate imagery or tell the story of our church we may need designers to focus on some kind of aesthetically pleasing or artistic symbol.
Simple and fresh
Growing and moving
timeless and artistic

Style and Concept

What logo and stationery styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

Text and image one idea might incorporate a subtle religious image like a cross in negative space.

Perhaps an abstract mark could be used that can symbolize thee different environments we believe every follower of Jesus needs: Connect, Grow, and Serve.

Please shy away from the low hanging fruit of over-used religious imagery (PLEASE NO sunbursts, flames, doves, open bible, fish or stick figures walking in front of a globe). We are a church seeking to reach people that have given up on church. This means that the logo might need a more abstract image or modern rendition of a timeless symbol.

What colors do you want to see in your logo and stationery?

We would like the logo to look good in color or in black and white.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo and stationery?

No neon or hot pinks.

What adjectives should best describe your logo and stationery?

Warm
Friendly
Welcoming
Natural, earthy or organic
Artistic

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

Web, print, signs, letterhead, brochures, t-shirts etc.

Leclaire in French means the clear or the light

Leclaire Christian Church was originally located in the historical district of Leclaire. Social visionary N.O. Nelson founded the village of Leclaire in 1890, naming it after Edme Jean Leclaire, who inaugurated profit sharing in France. In contrast to unsanitary urban tenement districts, Leclaire was a model cooperative village offering affordable homes, a healthful environment, free education, many opportunities for recreation and self improvement, and pleasant working conditions at the N. O. Nelson manufacturing company. Find more info here: http://www.historic-leclaire.org/index.h...
