LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I am a nutritionist who sees clients in private practice and maintains a food and nutrition blog on the side. You can read more about me and what I stand for at www.tamaraduker.com/about.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
I need an icon/logo to use for a business card and stationery design to serve as my own personal "brand." It should be flexible/appropriate enough to serve as a unifying branding device for a future website that will serve as a homepage for my private practice (including bio, appointment scheduling, etc..)as well as house my blog, which is currently a stand-alone site.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
My audience is NYC-based adults seeking professional nutrition counseling for (possibly serious) medical conditions.
It should be modern, professional and approachable. Nothing too cutesy or cartoonish, but not overly stiff or stark or clinical, either. I want to come across as a competent food & nutrition expert that people can trust to help them solve their problems.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
Nothing specific comes to mind. I do like iconic, graphic logos, and gravitate toward food imagery (e.g., the artichoke), but am a bit concerned that this approach (unless executed well) can look childish and unprofessional, so I'm not wed to the idea. Something more abstract that suggests food/nutrition without being too food-literal could also be interesting...
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The business card should have my name, credentials, contact info (phone, e-mail, website) and a list of the services I provide as follows:
Tamara Duker Freuman, MS, RD, CDN
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Nutrition Counseling
Please use dummy text for email/phone/web page until I select a winning design.
I have no specific fonts or colors in mind, but please avoid any script fonts as they're not easy to read and I think they're not very professional-looking. My favorite colors are orange and green (not necessarily together), but I am definitely not wed to these.
