LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I have a business card provided by my company and it is fine, but recently I attended a Jeffrey Gitomer seminar and he made me realize how boring my card really was. I am in sales in the print and communications industry and cannot afford to be boring. Jeffrey's brother is a designer and because Jeffrey is a baseball fan and a fan of the Phillies.....after they won the World Series last year he designed a two sided baseball card just like he was a player. He had pictures of him in his Phillies Jersey holding his autographed Phillies ball cap and on the other side they had a picture of him holding a bat ready to swing on the right of the card with his stats as a salesman, writer, and speaker on the left but in the same format and vernacular you would find on a baseball card (excuse my spelling). I am not a baseball fan....but I am looking for a conversation starter to offer people I meet as opposed to the ho'hum business card I pass out now. I have seen the Super Hero cards and like the idea but that is not what I am looking for. I have had people suggest using a frustrated picture of Tiger Woods in the foreground and picture of me in the background celebrating my win over Tiger since I am a golfer. I have had people say to use my 3 year old son with text bubbles to "help my dad pay for my education" another cute idea but still not completely sold. I need help from creative people. I would like to impress, possibly amuze, not stray to far from being professional while leaving an impression that will not soon be forgotten.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
2 sided business card that will leave a lasting impression. The card could be a scored and folded 4 panel as opposed to the 2 sided cards as well. I am open to using unusal sized business cards as well. I am a printer so all I need is the design. The images will need to be useable on my blog page and social networking sites as well.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
My primary clients are Development and Marketing Directors of Colleges and Universities, Directors of Communication, Marketing and Publications for national associations, non-profits, and unions headquartered in the DC Metropolitan area.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
As mentioned earlier the Jeffrey Gitomer baseball card was unique, mildly humorous, and vastly more rememorable than my card. I would like to find a design I can move forward with and then possibly have my web, social networking profiles, networking group profiles, and marketing materials eventually all developed from the new design.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
I consider being in sales akin to running for an elected position. You must be rememorable, respectable and personable. I need to have that reflected in the design. I of course need to convey how to get in touch with me as well, my contact info is as follows:
