LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I run a non-profit that finds and provides financial resources for foster-youth trying to pay their way through college. It's statistically rare for a foster-youth to even go to college. Less than 47% of foster kids graduate from high school, and less than 4% of those go on to college. I created a website a few years ago to be the one-stop place to find scholarships and information on paying for college and have just this semester also started to provide scholarships (at UMass-Amherst). The goal is to continue to provide that information as well as to increase the size and number of scholarships (also, the geographic reach of the scholarships).
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
I used a template in Dreamweaver to get the website up. It's very functional, but pretty drab. I'm looking first for a nice logo to use with the website and for stationery that I can have printed on cards, letterhead, envelopes, etc.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Stakeholders in the foster youth system, to include social workers, government agencies and those working in outreach type programs, foster parents and ultimately, foster-youth themselves.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Also, I dunno (not a design guy at all!), but something with the idea of moving (as the website says....) Onward and Upwards!
Font, nothing too wild, needs to look professional when I send out donation requests and able to be replicated in Word.
Color, no hard preference. I like blue, more neutral colors, no pastels.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Hmm...can't really think of anything that must be there. Really interested to see what the 'crowd' comes up with.
