Who are you?
Luxemi.com is an e-commerce site that specializes in high end ethnic Indian clothing (saris, salwar kameez, lenghas) and accessories. The look and feel of the site will be clean, sophisticated and upscale with an emphasis on customer service.
Luxemi is a play on the word "Lakshmi" who is the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity as well as the embodiment of grace and charm.
What do you need?
Initially, we are looking for a logo design for our brand and associated business cards and stationary. If we love your design, we would be interested in partnering in the future for web design (look/feel of the website and the layouts of each page).
The logo is key as it will be the jumping off point for our overall web design and we will take from the look/feel of the logo to inform the broader web design.
Who Is Your Audience?
We are initially targeting the 18-35 Indian woman in the western world. Of course, since our products are Indian we want that to be reflected in the design, however we do not want a traditional Indian look. We see our brand as modern and fresh with an aspirational vibe. Luxury and style with a hint of Indian flare is what we're going for.
We expect to expand beyond women's wear so we do not want a logo that is too feminine.
We Like These Examples
We want something uniquely our own and are looking forward to seeing your designs!
We Absolutely Must Have
The word "luxe", which connotes luxury and premium quality, should be distinguished from the letters "mi" in the design whether by font, color, or graphics (even if only subtly distinguished; this will help with the pronunciation which is lux-me).
While we are not tied to any specific colors, some combinations we are particularly fond of are orange/gold and red/gold. However, please don't feel tied to this because we are more than open to your interpretation of the design.
