LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Kollekt is a tool for collectors to build, organize and manage their collections, and a community where they can share their collection with the world. At it's core, Kollekt is a way to keep track of the things that you collect and share product data about your items. But beyond that, Kollekt brings together people interested in collecting everything from baseball cards to classic cars, Barbies to antique typewriters, and anything in between. It's as much about showing off your rare collection of coins to fellow numismatists (coin collectors) as it is about sharing the story behind your African mask collection with someone who's never even been to Africa.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a fresh forward-thinking social media friendly brand that's fun, a bit cheeky, inviting. It should evoke the emotion of nostalgia (much like the items in our member's collections), but at the same time, it should feel modern. Balancing the conflict between nostalgia and modernity is the key to the brand. In simpler terms, it should feel both retro and current. There is a particular color that does this for me: sea foam green. Hex value: #23C6AC. It reminds me of an old Fender Stratocaster guitar from the '50s.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our audience runs the gamut between early 20s and 100. Our audience is interested in collecting a very broad range of item categories, so the branding should be equally broad. But since this is a social site, it should probably convey the social nature of collecting. Our members should find our site fun, playful, vibrant, friendly, nostalgic, inviting, easy to use, simple, clean, forward-thinking.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

I would say I'm strongly in favor of incorporating sea foam green...either that or it should show up well against a sea foam green background. I'm about 90% sure that's what I want our color palette to be based off of. It doesn't have to be the exact hex value above. If you have a better idea in mind, though, I'd love to see it.

This is for a logo, business cards and stationary design. Also for the logo, we'll need a full color and black-and-white-versions, and they should be able to be used on both light and dark backgrounds (multiple versions are ok).
