LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are EdLabs, a research division of Harvard University. We are a non-profit organization that works (like crazy) to close the educational achievement gap that occurs in poor, inner-city schools.
Our research indicates that a well-developed system of incentives and interventions can improve kids' performance in school and keep them from dropping out. This in turn leads to lower incarceration rates, greater academic and financial success as adults, and generally much better lives for the thousands of kids who attend the schools we assist.
For this assignment, we need your help to create a logo and related materials for the "umbrella program" that will encompass the programs we create and implement in schools in the U.S. and around the world.
This umbrella program is called "The Blueprint Network."
Please note: If this concept interests you, please see our related project for "Apollo 20," in which we seek a logo specifically for our program that focuses on improving public schools in Houston, Texas.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
This logo will be used both in the US and internationally, so it should be especially clean and clear and easily understood, since people from many different cultures in many different parts of the world (in addition to the U.S., think Haiti and India, for example) will see it.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
School administrators, teachers, parents, and students (between ages 5 and 18) in the U.S. and around the world.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
We can't point to any particular examples (well, Nike and Apple, but that's what everyone always says).
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
We're looking for a logo that can be used both in the U.S. and internationally. It needs to communicate quickly, clearly, and cleanly that we are capable experts, and it must inspire confidence and hope. Please feel free to use images that the word "blueprint" inspires, but nothing hokey, cartoony, or juvenile, please.
