LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Allos Ventures. We're an early-stage venture firm - investing in
Allos is greek for "different" and the tagline we've been using is "a different kind of VC".
We are very hands-on and provide significant business-building assistance (guidance, connections to customers/experts/management team members, etc.) to entrepreneurs beyond just capital. We are also one of very few venture firms in the midwest that focus on early-stage (i.e. less than $5 million of revenue) companies.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A logo - will be used on business cards, letterhead, etc., but also website, memos, and legal documents, such as term sheets provided to entrepreneurs. Will likely appear on various marketing items as well - mugs, pens, etc.
Business cards, letterhead, envelopes (standard size)
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
We're looking for an image that's somewhat light and casual - friendly, accessible, etc. - to appeal to entrepreneurs. We are the first people most of our current portfolio company CEOs call when they have a problem, and that's the image we want to continue to portray.
But at the same time, it must appeal to those individuals and financial institutions who invest in us - who primarily care about the return on investment we produce - not whether we get along with entrepreneurs.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
I've attached our working logo. We obviously don't completely like it, since we're posting here, but it generally has the clean look we're looking for. We like these colors, but by no means are we wedded to them. We think we would like an image of some sort that we could use as a design highlight in places (the back of the business cards, for example, or as a watermark on a web page) without using the whole logo/name. Not wedded to that idea either, though, as we've been unable to figure out how to graphically represent "different".
