LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

GIVING LENS is an organization that enables individual donors to support and empower the non-profits of their choice by contributing towards the making of fund-raising videos.

75% of philanthropic giving in the US in 2007 came from individual donations as opposed to 12% from large philanthropic foundations . We believe in the power of a common vision and aggregated donations (no matter how small they are) when it comes to making a difference.

The main themes we are looking to address are:

Visibility/Trasparency

Circularity

Continuous Growth

Advocacy

Accountability

Our aim is to connect the worlds of individual giving, small to medium non-profits & documentary filmmaking.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Having lined up the key players to test our concept, we are in need of a logo that will be our presentation card to the world and convey the themes listed above. The logo will be used on our website (currently under design), as well as our business cards and stationary.

We have been toying with some ideas but are by no means tied to them and looking forward to your interpretations. We've included them as a reference:

a) Literal logo: Giving hands offer the gift of a video lens

b) Symbolic: A triangle (each corner stands for individual donors, non-profits & documentary filmmakers)

c) Symbolic: Circles or spirals, as building blocks that are part of a growing social web

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Regular web users are our primary target.

Within this group, we are aiming to capture and focus on social network users (Linkedin, Facebook, My Space, Xing, SmallWorld etc...)

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Nike (for it's simplicity)

Breastcancer.org (it takes the old pink ribbon logo to a different dimension)

The bluegiraffee logo at http://www.fuelyourcreativity.com/50-kic... (we like the playfulness of this logo)

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Nothing too busy or flowery please.
