LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a cutting edge company that represents screenwriters, novelists, directors and producers in the movie and TV business. We also produce projects of our own that we're passionate about.
Our name is Silver Lake Entertainment.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a design for our company and for our letterhead that conveys the following things:
-sophistication without compromising commercial appeal
-the feeling that the company is established, even though it's new.
At its core, the design should convey good taste but not elitism or snootiness.
We are inspired by and are almost residents of the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, populated by artists, architects, dreamers, visionaries, chefs, directors, writers, etc. Here is a snapshot, thanks to the book Bohemian Modern: Living Silver Lake by Barbara Bestor to give you a sense.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The audience is mostly executives in the entertainment industry: most are sharp readers, have a flair for strong design, and are in tune with the classic logos of the business: Paramount, Warner Bros., Universal, MGM, Creative Artists Agency, etc.
We are selling both the taste and commercial appeal of our clients' work within the context of our company name. The high quality of their work should be mirrored in our logo.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
-The following three colors must be in the logo/letterhead: 1) red; 2) silver or gray; 3) black.
-If you choose to put an image or drawing of a lake into your design, please make it original (no stock photos or borrowed photos from other places, please). We're less interested in "real" representations of lakes and more interested in what feelings the logo and font (or logo-font) convey as a whole.
