The firm is named 19 tunnels because that was how many were needed to build the transcontinental railroad. We are a venture capital firm looking to connect the technological innovation of the SF Bay Area with traditional financial markets of New York in the same way the transcontinental railroad connected people and markets with booming California 150 years ago. The mountains seemed an impossible hurdle to overcome but ingenuity, bravery and hard work overcame those obstacles.
