Recurve is a full-service company that applies building science to make homes more energy efficient and healthy. The end result is a home with lower energy bills, healthier indoor air, and ultimately, a much more comfortable home environment.

Recurve conducts comprehensive home energy assessments and then develops solutions custom-designed for each homes needs--ranging from installing eco-friendly insulation to state-of-the-art solar thermal systems. Recurve has its own specially trained construction crews to execute the improvements.

We are in the midst of a re-branding with a new name and this is the new visual identity to accompany our new name of Recurve.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Logo and business cards. Logo will be used on all sales & marketing vehicles, including website, printed sales & marketing collateral, uniforms, truck signage, lawn signs, trade booth banners, business collateral, emails, gifts, powerpoint slides.

As a leader in the industry, we want our logo to be fresh and unique.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is:

Middle income, American homeowners, 35-65 years. Theyre motivated primarily by saving on energy bills or improving the health and comfort of home, but some also have a secondary motivation of wanting to do the right thing for the environment.

Our future target audience will include energy auditors and home performance building contractors who will use our proprietary information systems to build their own businesses.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Please incorporate contemporary, fresh blue and green in the logo. Colors that pop.

Preferred type treatment for name is to have all one size vs. upper and lower case letters (this is not a requirement, but had appeared to look the best in the past).

Three possible paths to explore:

1. Link to homes and homes performance: unique, iconic image of house(s) incorporated into the logo

2. Link to underlying meaning of word Recurve:

Recurve definition: A recurve bow has tips that curve away from the archer when the bow is unstrung. A recurve bow stores more energy than an equivalent straight-limbed bow, potentially giving a greater amount of cast to the arrow.

Logo that illustrates the idea of a bow/arc/curve that is helping to re-shape homes energy usage.

3. Combination of 1+2

Ultimately, we want a logo treatment that leverages the name of the company and gives it some artistic energy.

Our logo will carry a tagline under it in many instances.

Tagline: Re-Energizing Your Home.

Serif typeface. Dark, earthy, eco-groovy colors.
