LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Cookin Kids Culinary Camp is a 10 week upscale summer camp program for kids aged 7 to 14 based in Los Angeles, California. Parents sign up their kids for one week at a time. Each week features a different cooking theme, such as comfort food or international cuisine. Each week consists of 5 - 3 hour morning sessions for 7 to 11 year olds and afternoon sessions for an older group of 12 to 16 year old kids. Classes are hands-on and teach many cooking skills as well as team building, problem solving and planning. The program stresses good nutrition and utilizes organic ingredients whenever possible. Because one of our goals is social responsibility, one week of the program will provide a group of 40 disadvantaged kids who can not afford the program to participate at no cost.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo and stationary design. This will be used on a new website, stationary, business cards, signage, promotional materials and clothing (primarily on class aprons and chefs hats).

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Here in Southern California, most of the arts classes have disappeared in our junior and high schools. Classes such as cooking, pottery, woodshop and welding have been replaced by computer labs. Kids no longer have the opportunity to create things with their hands, in our estimation a tragedy. This program not only returns our students to hands-on learning but also teaches them the skills to pursue a useful lifelong hobby. Our target audience is twofold. Parents are looking for a safe environment and activity for their kids during their boring out of school summer months. Kids are looking for stimulating, fun activities to fill their time when they are out school. Lets face it; one of kids favorite things to do is eat.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

I have looked at many logos and the only one I find interesting so far is Barbeques Galore, http://www.learn2grill.com/. It incorporates a chefs hat with the name. The name doesnt have to necessarily be incorporated in the logo. This is just one idea. I welcome any creative ideas that you come up with.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

All of our promotional materials have to be 100% professional. Parents are entrusting their kids with us in cooking classes that has some inherent dangers. The logo and fonts have to be contemporary and fun but not whimsical. Cookin Kids will used in the future for our brand extension. Culinary camp should probably be on the outside the logo and on the second line of the letterhead.
