Contrail Construction & Development
What do you do?
Contrail is a general contractor. Although we occasionally work on residential remodels, we focus on commercial tenant improvement construction. Tenant improvement occurs when a new tenant to a commercial office building leases the space and needs the existing space demolished and new offices/interior space built out. We complete work in everything from single story commercial office/warehouse buildings to high rise office buildings.
What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
"Contrail" - with "Construction & Development" in smaller text associated with Contrail.
You'll receive designs for biz cards, letterhead and envelopes.
What is your industry?
Commercial construction. We work directly with the tenants that lease commercial office space as well as real estate brokers and real estate management companies.
Describe the target audience for your logo and stationery
We would like to have a professional, bold image that appeals to business owners in various industries such as law, banking, energy, consulting and retail. Most of the time it is the business owners or property managers that decide on which contractor to hire for the job so these are the individuals we are trying to appeal to. The group is predominately male between the ages of 40 and 60.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your logo and stationery?
Contrails are the cloud lines that a jetliner leaves in the sky on clear days. We would like our logo to incorporate this in some way. We also would like the logo to be bold and have a strong look that would make people think of a big, powerful construction company. Our company also focuses on efficiency and time constraints. Many of our clients have a specific timeline that needs to be met in order to get into their new offices and start working. A company that focuses on time management and efficiency is important to these clients. The logo also needs to be crisp and clear. The logo will need to be easily readable from a distance when put on a sign in front of a job-site. A clean and clear logo might also portray the clean finishes and attention to detail our company strives for.
Style and Concept
What logo and stationery styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
Text and image is fine but the text needs to be clear. It would be nice to have a logo that can stand alone by itself without including all the text. For example, decals for vehicles could just have the logo. I have attached an example of another company that has a logo that can stand alone.
What colors do you want to see in your logo and stationery?
This is open for debate. Based on our clientele we believe the color scheme should be appealing to the professionals we deal with. No bright colors or pastel colors. We would like to stay with a two color scheme. Leaning towards blue or green (associated with green building) as an accent color with a strong base color of dark grey or black or brown.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo and stationery?
Pastels or bright reds, oranges, yellows.
What adjectives should best describe your logo and stationery?
Simple, Clean, Bold, Strong, Clear, Polished. Something easily readable from a distance if it is on a sign in front of a project.
Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Business card, stationary, website, project signage. We would like a logo that will work seamlessly in all media.
Do you have additional info or links you want to share?
This company has a clean logo that is easily identifiable and also associates the color green with sustainable construction.
