LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

New Company Name: Strategy Builders

We are a commercial construction company based in San Diego, CA. We do business in the SW part of the US. We have been in business for 9 years operating as "Midwest General." We are going through a company upgrade which involves changing our name to Strategy Builders.

We emphasize we are a commercial construction company which means all references to residential or small time construction are discouraged. Our prior logo was a sun rising behind a city skyline - we invite you to check it out at www.midwestgeneral.com.

We have succeeded in the past by creating the image of a large company, even though we are relatively small.

We don't want to include ,inc. for incorporated in any of our artwork.

It is necessary to add "general contractors" and "construction managers" to the artwork.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A company logo and single, horizontal artwork to place at the top of our letterhead.

The logo will be used on job signs, T-shirts, our website, etc.

The letterhead will be used for letters, faxes, and PDF letters.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is local real estate developers, architects, subcontractors, and private builders that will identify with our logo. We also have a few large national companies as Clients that need to perceive us as a large company.

We rely heavily on word of mouth / client referrals. A memorable logo on a jobsite sign, or banner hanging from one of our tower cranes will generate future business.

With a name like "Strategy Builders" we must convey the image of a construction company, rather than a professional consulting firm - so it must be clear we build, rather than consult strategy.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We like simple logos - clean and concise with few colors and an easy to reproduce font. Construction is pretty much a male dominated business - so the logo should be macho, rugged, and tough.

We actually liked our old logo - see www.midwestgeneral.com.

We like local logos from McCarthy (the hardhat guy) and Jaynes Corporation (the crane hook).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

No frilly fonts.

No complicated color mixes.

No fine detail or fonts that are hard to fax, scan, or print clearly.
