Clinical Documentation Industry Association

What do you do?

The Clinical Documentation Industry Association (CDIA), formerly the Medical Transcription Industry Association, is a not-for-profit trade association serving the needs of clinical documentation service companies and vendors. CDIA is the voice for this sector on Capitol Hill and to the national media on the critical role of the narrative in medical records.

We are building stronger alliances with other outsourced health information management companies by expanding our membership base. This partnership will help us develop creative solutions to common business challenges.

CDIA's mission is to ensure content clarity of electronic patient information for physicians, patients and payers, by setting and promoting measurable process management standards for clinical documentation excellence.

Our Vision:
To combine human intelligence and available technologies to create, aggregate and transmit precise clinical data so that clinicians can focus on their primary role as caregivers, patients can rely on secure and accurate personal data, and provider organizations can optimize care, lower risk and accelerate appropriate payer reimbursement.
