LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Our founder is an avid domestic and international traveler. When she was put on a wheat, dairy, refined sugar and alcohol free diet she righted her wrongs, but found herself not able to satisfy her sweet tooth on the road. Thus was born Simplified Foods, LLC.

Since then, we have created a line of raw, organic sweet treats that embody an underlying theme of simplicity. As far as ingredients go, less is more. All products are organic and do not use preservatives. To this end, we are striving to become the guru of healthy sweet treats. Currently, our main products are candies that we call Simple Squares. The base ingredients are nuts and honey and we have three flavors: coconut, sage and rosemary.

Our competition: aside from chocolate, we have not found a raw, organic candy on market shelves. So at this point all candy is our competition. We like to think our healthy attributes set us apart from the restand of course, our product tastes great!

Culture-wise, were laid back and easy going, and we would like our brand to represent healthy, funky and hip.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

* a company logo for Simplified Foods (LLC not to be included). Please present the logo alone, as well as in stationery/business card layouts.

* a compatible logo/design for our featured packaged product, Simple Squares. If this could be shown on sample package layouts (boxes, bags), that would be helpful. Our packaging will either be square or rectangular in shape.

The two designs should be congruent in theme/characteristics; however, we still want the Simplified Foods logo to be recognizable in its own right. Logos will be used on everything from business cards/marketing materials, banners, product packaging and giveaways (totes, shirt, hats, etc).

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We are currently targeting individuals looking for wheat, gluten, dairy and refined sugar free alternatives to candy and desserts; while not wishing to exclude any demographic, our ideal markets are health minded college students, urban Whole Foods buying 30-40 somethings, and health conscious baby boomers. In the future, we aim to market our goods to athletes as a healthier version of sustenance bars, and recently weve gotten quite a few nods from parents looking for a candy alternative for their children.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Going for simple, classic and purposeful - think Paul Rand: http://www.paul-rand.com/identity.shtml

We are open to seeing both Iconic/Symbolic and Logotype/Wordmark Logos: http://www.logodesignsource.com/types.ht...

For our product design, we like the idea of including a rustic image of one or more of our ingredients as depicted in the sites below. Our three flavors right now are Sage, Rosemary and Coconut. Our packaging will either be square or rectangular in shape:

We are not the creatives here. So while we have thrown around some suggestions, we are VERY open to fresh thoughts that would make you want to purchase our product over other confections on market shelves.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Once we choose a winner, we will need a black and white version of the logo/designs as well as color (if using)

We aim to print on recycled paper using soy ink. Not sure if that impacts colors you choose.

Not interested at this time in working with creatives whose entries include items that were created by someone else and would result in us having to buy the rights.

No cutesy or homey looks.

Nothing busy. Also, do not care for bright, primary colors but prefer muted looks, not to be misconstrued as boring, just soft.
