What do you do?
We are importers of big-name brands (food, wine, and spirits) to Malta (yes, the little island in the Mediterranean). Our imports include Martini, Nutella, Ferraro Rocher, Grey Goose, Bacardi, and much more.
In Malta it's customary that businesses give their clients gift baskets for Christmas. So we are launching a new website this year that allows users to order these gift baskets, we call them "hampers," online. The hampers contain many of our name brand imports, including special holiday treats as well. To get a better idea, check out our site, hampers.com.mt.
List the size requirement(s) for your landing page
We need the creative for our new Facebook Page designed, so there are three elements. (1) The profile picture image [180 x 540(max height)] (2) The fan gate [520 x 1000] and (3) The Welcome Tab [520 x no limit]
What is your industry?
Food/Wine/Spirits gift baskets
Describe the target audience for your landing page
Secretaries, small business owners, managers, probably skewed towards females age 25-40.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your landing page?
We're all about spreading the Christmas spirit
Our Facebook page is fun and interactive
We're a great place to do your Christmas shopping
How is your company different from your competitors?
Believe it or not, internet sales have not yet taken off in Malta. People are still apprehensive about buying online. We are the first company to move hampers online. Plus, we are the importers of many of Europe's finest brands.
Style and Concept
What landing page design styles do you like?
I'm going to use this space to give you a close look at what we need.
(1) Profile picture image
We're going to be giving away a hamper each week, and the winner's picture will be featured in the profile image. So the image needs to include a hamper image and floating out of that a picture frame labeled "Goody of the Week." Bear in mind that our thumbnail for the Facebook Page comes from the profile pic. We'd like the thumbnail to be the image of the hamper and the website address below it. So please leave sufficient space around those two elements so Facebook can crop the thumbnail.
(2) Fan Gate
The fan gate is the image that the user sees when she lands on the Facebook Page for the first time. The goal of this design is to get the user to click the "Like" button and become a fan. I love the Cinnamon Toast Crunch swirl concept. The idea of having individual products swirling out of a hamper and driving to the "Like" button at the top would be really, really cool (I think). Kind of like the Red Bull fan gate: http://www.ignitesocialmedia.com/wp-cont...
(3) The Welcome Tab
This is the design that the user sees after she "Likes" the page. It should have three sections, the magical top section with the copy "O tidings of comfort and joy" (maybe you could make Ferraro Rocher chocolates link to "comfort" and some popping Martini bubbly link to "joy". The second section a bit smaller, which displays the most popular hampers. Then the third section even smaller (in terms of height) which shows the three ways of ordering.
What colors do you want to see in your landing page?
Dark blue (see the website hampers.com.mt), twinkly Christmas light colors, festive colors. THey really like their Christmas lights here, so it would be great if we could incorporate them throughout.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your landing page?
black, no snow or snowmen
What adjectives should best describe your landing page?
Magical, twinkly, Christmas-y, fun, festive
What content must be included in the landing page?
(1) Profile Picture image: [The "Logo", Hamper image 1, A picture frame that says "Goody of the week", "www.hampers.com.mt"]
(2) Fan Gate Design: ["'Like' us for a chance to win a Christmas hamper", Hamper image 2, Individual product images]
(3) Welcome Tab: ["O tidings of comfort and joy", Hamper image 2, "Most Popular Hampers", Hamper Pop 1, Hamper Pop 2, Hamper Pop 3, "Order Online (www.hampers.com.mt) | The Store (Notabile Rd, Mriehel) | Phone (21444364)"]
Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?
Looks that I like (in terms of twinkle on a blue background):
The Cinnamon Toast Crunch swirling concept could be cool for the fan gate (driving people to "like"). It has action!
